Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an Assistant Laboratory Analyst to support an analytical team in a busy mineral processing facility in Cornwall. You will assist with sample preparation, maintain lab areas, manage stock and support Analytical Chemists with routine tasks.

The role offers a full-time schedule (08:30–16:30) with flexible hybrid working, a discretionary bonus, pension, private medical, generous leave and opportunities for cross-border remote work and career development.

Qualifications

• GCSE in English, Maths and Science required.
• Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing ore, metallurgical and test work samples for analysis.
• Cleaning, maintaining and organising laboratory work areas.
• Washing, drying and storing laboratory equipment and consumables.
• Preparing reagents and consumables for analytical chemists.
• Assisting staff with routine sample preparation and analytical tasks.
• Monitoring and replenishing stocks of laboratory consumables and chemicals.
• Disposing of chemicals safely and per procedures.
• Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
• Entering sample information into the tracking system.
• Supporting the Analytical Team with daily laboratory operations.
