Job summary

SLR Consulting in Truro is seeking an Assistant Laboratory Analyst to support the Analytical Team. You will prepare ore samples for analysis, assist chemists, and maintain laboratory standards, including housekeeping and stock management. The role requires practical, hands-on lab work and flexibility to meet operational needs.

The position is full-time, 08:30 to 16:30, at Wheal Jane Earth Science Park. Training will be provided, and the company offers a broad benefits package and career

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Preparing ore, metallurgical and test work samples for analysis.
• Cleaning, maintaining and organising laboratory work areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
• Washing, drying and storing laboratory equipment, glassware and consumables.
• Preparing laboratory reagents, solutions and consumables for use by Analytical Chemists.
• Assisting laboratory staff with routine sample preparation and analytical support activities.
• Monitoring and replenishing laboratory consumables and chemical stocks.
• Disposing of chemicals and laboratory waste safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Maintaining, calibrating and cleaning laboratory equipment.
• Entering sample information into the laboratory tracking system.
