Job summary

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a substantive Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant with a special interest in Hand and Wrist Surgery. The role sits in a department of 12 consultants with a multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will work to provide a comprehensive service, manage workload within the contract, and contribute to clinical governance, audits and development of guidelines. Permanent, full-time appointment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Entry on GMC Specialist Register; eligible for entry on Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview
• Essential: Appropriate Fellowship Training

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive service as part of the orthopaedic team with clinical responsibility for patients under care.
• Manage personal workload to meet service contract levels and undertake work in excess of contract per Trust policy.
• Contribute to mortality and morbidity meetings, development and application of clinical guidelines, and clinical audit.
• Provide advice to the Trust, GPs and other parties on trauma and orthopaedic services.

Education
