University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is offering a Hand and Wrist Fellowship post. The role targets surgeons with FRCS Traumatology and Orthopaedics or FRCS Plastics, eligible for CCST, focusing on both elective and trauma hand and wrist care with opportunities for research.

The post is 12 months, primarily at the Coventry site with some work at Rugby St Cross; salary respects NHS nodal point 5 for suitable experience, and the BSSH Hand Diploma is supported.

Qualificações

• 6+ months training in hand and wrist surgery at ST6+ or senior fellow level
• 12+ months training in Orthopaedic or Plastics Hand and wrist surgery at ST6+ or senior fellow level
• Advanced knowledge of specialist field
• Good foundational knowledge of the hand and wrist subspeciality
• Evidence of recent publications in peer reviewed journals
• Evidence of recent engagement in the audit loop and effecting change
• Medical professionalism and ethical practice knowledge
• Good communication skills with colleagues and patients

Responsabilidades

• Regular elective and trauma operating sessions with supervision and independently.
• Regular Orthopaedic outpatient clinics at UHCW and Rugby St Cross Hospitals.
• Supervising and initiating the treatment of hand and wrist patients.
• Carrying out regular ward rounds and post operative care as appropriate.
• Participation in clinic audit within the unit.
• Multidisciplinary teamwork with Hand Therapy team, Extended Scope Practitioners and Hand Co-ordinator
• Active involvement in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics, including teaching of medical and nursing students.
