Job summary

The City of Liverpool College in Liverpool is seeking a Bank Hairdressing Lecturer to deliver teaching from Level 1 to Level 3, focusing on up-to-date industry practices, advanced cutting and colouring techniques, and pastoral care.

This temporary role requires a Level 3 hairdressing qualification, teaching qualification or vocational experience, strong IT skills, and the ability to plan lessons, assess learners, and support progression while promoting safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 3 or above in Hairdressing.
• A recognised Teaching qualification or vocational experience.
• Professional qualification relevant to the subject area.
• Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College.
• Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery in hairdressing.
• Knowledge and understanding of Hairdressing Techniques.
• Engaged in Continuing Professional Development.
• Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues, and themselves.
• Experience of resource-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons and assess learning across levels 1 to L3.
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging teaching to manage the learning process.
• Create a motivating learning environment and promote positive behaviour.
• Plan and use teaching techniques to encourage independence and autonomy.
• Track student progress and attendance; provide feedback and records.
• Contribute to curriculum design and program improvements.
• Work with colleagues to address English and Maths skills development.
• Support Health & Safety, safeguarding, and equality/diversity inclusion.
• Carry out other duties as required at the needs of the service.
