Job summary

TeacherActive is assisting a mainstream college in Longbridge, Birmingham, by recruiting a Hairdressing Lecturer for a temporary, long-term placement. The role covers about 22 teaching hours per week, plus Friday team meetings 12:00–14:00, at Longbridge Campus (and later at Hall Green Campus).

You will tutor Level 2 Hairdressing students and support two groups, deliver theory and practical sessions, and adapt prepared Schemes of Work while developing your own resources.

Qualifications

• Must have experience teaching Hairdressing up to Level 3.
• Must hold a Level 3 Hairdressing qualification.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Personal Tutor responsibilities for two groups.
• Deliver Theory lessons for Level 2 Hairdressing.
• Deliver Practical skills for Level 2 Hairdressing.
• Teach a Level 2 group on Tuesdays focusing on practical skills.
• Mark formative and summative theory and practical work.
• Monitor student attendance and follow up with students.
• Contact parents/carers regarding attendance or concerns.
• Work collaboratively as part of the Hairdressing team.
