Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is delighted to assist a prestigious FE college in recruiting a Hairdressing Lecturer in Peterborough to deliver engaging teaching across hairdressing programmes.

You will plan lessons, schemes of work, and assessments, monitor student progress, and provide feedback, pastoral support, and guidance to promote progression and employability, while upholding health and safety and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or professional experience in Hairdressing, Hair and Beauty, Barbering, or related discipline.
• Experience delivering Hairdressing within a UK FE college, across Levels 1-3.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards one.
• Strong practical hairdressing skills and knowledge of cutting, colouring, styling, salon operations, assessment, safeguarding, health and safety, and current industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching and assessment across Hairdressing programmes, covering cutting, colouring, styling, hair treatments, salon techniques, health and safety, and professional practice.
• Plan and develop lesson plans, schemes of work, learning resources, and assessments in line with awarding body requirements, curriculum standards, and current industry practices.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and achievement while providing constructive feedback, personal tutoring, pastoral support, and guidance to promote progression and employability.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, internal verification, industry engagement, competitions, events, and salon activities, while maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety, and safeguarding.

Role: Hairdressing Lecturer

Location: Peterborough.

Type: Full Time - Temporary.

Salary: up to £40 per hour

Start: Sept

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching and assessment across Hairdressing programmes, covering cutting, colouring, styling, hair treatments, salon techniques, health and safety, and professional practice.
• Plan and develop lesson plans, schemes of work, learning resources, and assessments in line with awarding body requirements, curriculum standards, and current industry practices.
