Job summary

Heart of England Training is seeking an experienced Hairdressing/Beauty Therapy Educator to join our Rugby Academy for full-time learners aged 16–19. The role is fully onsite with daily attendance required and a commuting expectation of about 30 minutes.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging sessions, support learners through individualized programmes, and ensure alignment with apprenticeship standards, NVQ requirements and Ofsted quality standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified and passionate educator in hairdressing or beauty therapy.

Responsibilities

• Agree an individualized training programme with each learner and monitor progress toward targets.
• Ensure learners understand rights and responsibilities related to their qualification.
• Interpret and meet Apprenticeship Standards, NVQ requirements, Technical Certificate qualifications and other learning aims.
• Deliver engaging sessions to develop learners' knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• Identify evidence to show learners meet learning aims and ensure curriculum aligns with Ofsted and QA standards.
• Develop strategies to address gaps in learner progress and achievement and ensure OneFile is used effectively.
• Ensure equal access to learning activities and assessment for all learners.
• Develop learners' literacy, numeracy and ICT starting points.

Established in 1971, Heart of England Training is a leading apprenticeship provider, rated as 'excellent' by employers and apprentices and working with over 1,000 apprentices in England.We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, qualified and passionate Hairdressing / Beauty Therapy Educator to join the team working in our Rugby Academy for learners aged 16-19 studying hairdressing and beauty therapy full-time programmes, as well as apprentices attending 'day release' training.The successful individual will be flexible, empathetic and reliable: a team-player with excellent communication skills.Please note this is a fully onsite role requiring daily attendance at the academy. Applicants should be able to commute to the academy within approximately 30 minutes to support reliable attendance and operational requirements.

Salary: from £26,000 per annumResponsibilities include:

• To agree an individualised training programme with each learner, and monitor this to ensure that the learner is working to the agreed targets

• To ensure that learners understand their rights and responsibilities with regard to their qualification
• To correctly interpret and meet: Apprenticeship Standards, NVQ requirements, Technical Certificate qualifications and any other learning aims which build the learners individualised curriculum.
• To follow the curriculum plan and deliver engaging sessions which develop the learner's knowledge, skills and behaviours.
• To identify safe, valid, reliable and sufficient evidence to enable learners to complete their learning aims
• To ensure the delivery of the curriculum is in line with the Ofsted framework and meeting the organisations quality assurance standards.
• To identify and develop strategies to address gaps in learners progress and achievement
• To ensure OneFile is utilised within its full capacity and embedded within your day to day working culture
• To ensure that all learners have equal and fair access to learning activities and the assessment process
• To develop learners Literacy, Numeracy and ICT in line with individuals starting points

• Monday to Friday, 9.00am-4:30pm working hours (FT)
• 33 days holiday allowance (FT inc bank holidays) rising to 38 days within a 3 year period of time served (PT holidays Pro Rata)
