Job Title: Hairdresser

Location: Richmond Village Aston, Richmond Drive, Off Maple Drive, DE72 2EA

Salary range: £12.75ph

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term

Shift Pattern: Up To 40hrs - Monday to Saturday & between 9-6pm

What your typical day involves

• Carrying out treatments such as cutting, restyling, blow wave, perming, setting, application of colour and restyling of long or short hair
• Providing consultation and advice to customers, especially when providing colouring services, ensuring patch tests are carried out at all times
• Completing customer record cards for every colour and perm appointment
• Booking customer appointments with efficient time allocation
• Operating the EPOS system to receive payments
• Performing housekeeping duties, sanitising tools after each customer, and maintaining a clean, tidy, and hygienic work area
• Promoting and demonstrating retail products to reach or exceed retail and treatment targets
• Checking stock levels and advising management of requirements
• Undertaking additional duties or promotional activities as directed by the Wellness Spa Manager, including covering reception, taking bookings, and handling enquiries in the absence of the Receptionist

Who we’re looking for

Ideally, you’ll have an NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Hairdressing/Barbering, experience working in a salon, and proficiency with different colour techniques. You should be able to advise customers on styles and colours suitable for their features. Experience working with older people is advantageous. You’re friendly, approachable, an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, and capable of delivering a person-centred service to customers with diverse needs and abilities. A confident personality and the ability to work independently to meet customer needs are essential.

As we care for vulnerable people, a DBS check is required as part of the recruitment process, which Bupa will cover (£40).
