Description : About the role :

An exciting part-time opportunity to work at Box Hill Institute as our Hair and Beauty Technician! This position is for 4 days per week until December 2025.

The Technician, Hair and Beauty provides technical and logistical support to the Hair and Beauty department, including:

• Establishing and maintaining a current stock inventory for all course materials
• Ensuring all tools and equipment are ready for use by staff and students, including session setup and cleanup
• Supporting teaching and business staff with technical assistance

The role involves warehousing, monitoring, and maintaining consumables and minor equipment, and providing technical support. The technician will liaise with managers, coordinators, teachers, students, suppliers, community groups, and staff at all levels.

This position is part of the Design area within the Faculty of Creative, Business and Technology. Success in this role will contribute to a high-performing team, student achievement, improved education and employment outcomes, compliance, quality education, and market growth opportunities.

About You :

• Relevant technical qualification at AQF level 3 or equivalent experience in arts program support
• Certificate III in Hairdressing, Beauty Service, Diploma of Beauty Therapy, or similar experience
• Level 2 First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain it
• Proven ability in asset and stock control, reporting, and equipment maintenance
• Experience with Finance One, including purchase orders, invoices, and MEC minimization
• Ability to estimate resource needs accurately
• Maintains formal records for resource management
• Experience in warehousing, equipment, and facility maintenance, especially in education
• High level of cultural awareness and empathy, responsive to diverse backgrounds and needs
• Team-oriented and cooperative work approach
