Hair and Beauty Teacher – Alternative Provision – Birmingham

An alternative provision in Birmingham is seeking a passionate and skilled Hair and Beauty Teacher to join their team. This exciting opportunity involves teaching BTEC Hair & Beauty and BTEC Barbering to secondary-aged learners. The role is available for 3 or 4 days per week, offering a rewarding balance of professional challenge and personal satisfaction.

As a Hair and Beauty Teacher in this setting, you will deliver engaging, practical, and creative lessons, inspiring students to develop both technical skills and confidence. With excellent facilities and brand-new equipment at your disposal, you will have everything you need to deliver high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.

Job Role:
  • Planning and delivering BTEC Hair & Beauty and BTEC Barbering courses.
  • Providing high-quality practical lessons using professional-standard equipment.
  • Supporting learners in developing technical, vocational, and employability skills.
  • Creating a positive, supportive classroom environment where every learner can succeed.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to engage students with SEMH and additional needs.
Requirements:
  • QTS, QTLS, PTTLS or a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Hair & Beauty and/or Barbering, ideally with BTEC qualifications.
  • Strong practical skills and up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally those with SEMH or additional learning needs (desirable).
  • A patient, supportive, and inspiring approach to teaching.
