A leading healthcare organization in Manchester seeks a Band 6 Haematology Charge Nurse to provide clinical oversight and assist in the education of junior staff. This role requires previous experience in Haematology care and strong leadership skills. The salary ranges from £38,682 to £46,580 annually, pro rata, and is for 37.5 hours per week with rotational shifts.

Haematology Sister/charge nurse

We are delighted to recruit to a band 6 Haematology charge nurse post on ward 44 within Manchester Royal Infirmary.

The expected hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week, working 7.30-20:00 Monday – Sunday, with rotation of night and day shifts. Experience in caring for patients in a Haematology setting is preferred.

The successful candidate will be required to work clinically and will be expected to assist with education of junior staff, assist with IQP work and maintain the skills and knowledge of new and current staff members.

Main duties of the job
  • Clear understanding of Haematology and service delivery.
  • Clinical working within the Haematology department as a band 6.
  • Assist in the continuing education of junior staff.
  • Assist the ward manager with safe co‑ordinating and safe delivery of treatments.
  • Contribute to educational sessions and accreditation requirements.
