A leading health service in Wales is seeking a dedicated Haematology Consultant specializing in Myeloma to enhance patient care. The successful candidate will be part of a progressive team, participating in clinical duties, outpatient clinics, and contributing to haematology subspecialty development. This position offers the opportunity to impact patient outcomes significantly and advance the field of haematology across the health board.
Applications are invited to join us in developing our service for our patients in West Wales. We are looking for a highly committed and motivated individual to join our Haematology team as we start to introduce subspecialisation into the health board. Our dedicated and forward-looking team of 7 consultants provide a comprehensive haematology service in the four hospitals in an area of outstanding beauty. This post will introduce a Myeloma subspecialty to our team as part of a redesign of haematology services across the Health Board and will continue to develop as part of the wider transformation process. Support for the post includes Associate Specialists, specialty doctors, clinical fellow as well as foundation trainees. The team also includes haematology CNS team and Specialist pharmacists. Our vision is to provide a future proofed service for our patients to ensure they can be cared for as close to their home as possible.

Clinical - The appointee should be able to demonstrate experience in the management of Myeloma and General Haematology. The successful candidate will develop this subspecialty across the health board and working alongside the generalist consultants.
Inpatients - The appointee will participate in an attending and on-call rota for the Carmarthen site. At the three peripheral sites, the contribution is consultative to the local medical team.
Outpatients - The appointee will be expected to participate in 3-4 clinics per week, within Myeloma and General Haematology. Consideration for other subspecialist workload could be considered, depending on applicant's experience to date.
There is a weekly health board wide MDT and opportunities to join other MDTs from all Wales MDTs.
