About The Role
As a Habitat Delivery Specialist in our Habitat Creation and Management team, you will deliver habitat creation and enhancement projects safely, on-time, and within budget. This role suits a forward-thinking ecologist or conservationist with practical habitat management skills. You will work closely with ecologists and land managers to plan and deliver habitat creation across your region, including woodland, scrub, grassland, wetlands, and infrastructure works. You will also manage the success of habitat banks across our national network.

Location
Based in the Midlands or North of England.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review ecology design for successful implementation
  2. Write or review Habitat Management Plans and Monitoring Plans
  3. Provide activity schedules to the project manager
  4. Write specifications for key materials (e.g., seed, fencing)
  5. Meet contractors on-site, manage contractor KPIs
  6. Review Construction Phase Plans and delivery methodologies, contribute to risk registers

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject
  • Knowledge of habitat creation, restoration, and management principles
  • Experience delivering nature recovery projects
  • Ability to work within budgets and deadlines
  • Experience working with farmers, landowners, and contractors

Desirable

  • Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH/IOSH)
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel
  • Experience in rural land management
