Job Description

Location: 8 Rigg Approach

The HATS Group is the UK's foremost private healthcare provider, excelling in patient-centric transport services with an 'Outstanding' rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are a regulated provider of Private Ambulances and SEND services, supporting various healthcare institutions and delivering over 2,000,000 passenger movements annually.

We are seeking a PSV Company Bus Driver to join our team, responsible for driving passenger vehicles and providing excellent customer service for safe and comfortable journeys.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients during journeys and handovers.
  2. Always wear high visibility PPE in vehicle movement areas.
  3. Observe speed limits within depots and school premises.
  4. Conduct vehicle safety checks before service, report defects, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
  5. Comply with laws and company policies regarding mobile phones, smoking, and prohibited equipment.
  6. Maintain health, safety, security, and environmental standards, attending safety briefings and training.
  7. Report safety incidents and understand emergency procedures.
  8. Keep the bus cab tidy and provide high standards of customer service.
  9. Communicate relevant information to customers, behave professionally, and assist vulnerable groups.
  10. Drive safely, legally, and according to timetable, staying updated on road conditions.
  11. Hold a valid driving and CPC license at all times, with up-to-date medicals.
  12. Report license changes or issues promptly.
  13. Follow all policies, undertake training, and participate in appraisals.
  14. Work flexible hours, mainly between 07:00-09:00 and 14:30-16:30, and report incidents to supervisors.
  15. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, transporting clients safely and efficiently.
Skills and Requirements
  • Valid UK (or acceptable) D1 category driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • No more than 6 penalty points.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and provide references.
  • Proven professional driving experience.
  • Completion of 7 hours of DCPC training annually.
  • Secondary education or equivalent.
  • Willingness to undertake further training such as NVQ.
  • Ability to drive safely and competently.
  • Good communication skills in English (ESOL Level 2).
