Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council in Hamilton is recruiting a Housing Officer to deliver a wide range of housing services to customers in a housing-related environment. The role requires knowledge of homelessness, allocations, estate management, rent recovery and anti-social behaviour, with strong IT and prioritisation skills.

The two temporary posts run for end dates in January 2027 and March 2027, with standard hours Monday to Friday.

Location: Brandon Gate, Hamilton

Hours: 2 x 35 hours posts available, both temporary with end dates being January 2027 and March 2027

Work Pattern: Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.45am - 4.15pm

Salary: £33,468 - £34,399 per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced individual to join the Hamilton Housing Team within Housing Services.

As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of housing services to our customers therefore, you should have similar experience of working within a housing related environment and have an understanding of current issues and legislation in relation to homelessness, allocations, estate management, rent recovery and dealing with anti- social behaviour.

Excellent IT skills are required as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload in an effective way and to respond and adapt to changing priorities required in delivering a quality service.

You should possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of agencies.
