South Lanarkshire Council is seeking an experienced Electrician to join their Building Services team. The role involves overseeing electrical works, including new builds and refurbishments, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should possess SVQ Level 3 or equivalent, demonstrate strong communication skills, and have a flexible approach to managing tasks. Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 8.00am - 1.30pm
South Lanarkshire Council requires an experienced Electrician to support the delivery of electrical works within Building Services. You will have a flexible approach to managing varied workloads as you will be required to carry out all associated electrical works including new build, refurbishment, maintenance, and a Testing and Inspection programme.
You should be time-served with trade qualifications within your relevant discipline (SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) and demonstrate sound practical technical competencies in managing and delivering jobs. Experience within commercial or domestic properties within the construction industry is essential.
For the Testing and Inspection programme, you should demonstrate sound practical technical competencies in carrying out Testing / Inspection according to current regulations, with suitable qualifications.
You should demonstrate a commitment to customer care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and previous experience working to targets and pre-determined timescales, along with an awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
Due to the requirements of this post, the ability to travel throughout South Lanarkshire is essential.
