Job summary

Millenium Site Services UK Ltd in Derby is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead H&S across our workshops and client sites. You will own the company’s H&S management system and act as the lead H&S contact for key accounts, driving a proactive safety culture.

Based at the Derby Head Office, you will manage RAMS, safety audits, COSHH, LEV and RPE compliance, while coordinating client audits and delivering toolbox talks to uphold high safety standards.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is essential.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is essential.
• Competent in Fire Risk Assessment and DSEAR Risk Assessment.
• Proven H&S management experience in manufacturing, engineering or multi-site environments.
• Experience with paint, spray booth or hazardous substances environments preferred.
• P601 LEV Thorough Examination and Testing is desirable.
• Competent in coordinating and completing RPE face fit testing.
• Full UK driving licence for travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Report weekly to the Managing Director on H&S performance, risks, incidents, KPIs and improvement actions.
• Develop, review and maintain RAMS / WPP for all client sites and activities.
• Prepare and present H&S KPI reports for key client accounts.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Develop and implement Safe Systems of Work for H&S-critical activities.
• Conduct and review Fire Risk Assessments and DSEAR assessments including ATEX considerations.
• Manage fire and explosion risks around spray booths, paint preparation, shotblasting and gas storage.
• Develop and review COSHH assessments covering paints, solvents, isocyanates and other chemicals.
• Oversee LEV systems including commissioning, testing and maintenance.
• Coordinate and carry out RPE face fit testing and set PPE standards.
• Monitor training and competency across teams.
• Lead investigations into accidents and near-misses and analyse trends.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote a positive safety culture.
• Support client audits and liaise with clients, consultants and LEV engineers.
• Drive consistent H&S standards across locations.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead H&S across our workshops and customer sites. Based at our Derby Head Office and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll own the company's H&S management system. You'll also be the lead H&S contact for key client accounts and drive a strong, proactive safety culture across the business.

What We're Looking For

• NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (essential)
• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
• Competent in Fire Risk Assessment and DSEAR Risk Assessment
• Proven H&S management experience in a manufacturing, engineering or multi-site environment
• Experience with paint, spray booth or hazardous substance environments (advantageous)
• P601 LEV Thorough Examination and Testing (desirable)
• Competent in coordinating and completing RPE face fit testing (desirable)
• Confident working with senior management and client stakeholders
• Full UK driving licence (for travel between sites)
