Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support water-related engineering and construction projects at a major site near Cambridge. The role focuses on delivering practical H&S advice to project teams and contractors to ensure works are performed safely and compliantly.

You will conduct site inspections, review risk assessments and method statements, lead toolbox talks, and support incident investigations within a complex industrial

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
• CSCS card or equivalent industry card.
• Practical site-based health & safety experience in construction, engineering or industrial projects.
• Good working knowledge of CDM Regulations and risk assessment processes.
• Confident engaging with contractors and challenging unsafe practices when necessary.
• Strong communication, organisational and reporting skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on H&S advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and contractors.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and site procedures.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Advise on high-risk activities, including confined spaces, excavations, lifting operations, temporary works and working at height.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks and promote a positive health and safety culture.
• Monitor compliance with CDM Regulations and relevant health, safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain accurate safety records and support reporting and continuous improvement.

They're looking for a practical, site-focused H&S professional to work alongside project teams and contractors, helping ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently within a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on H&S advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and contractors.


• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety tours, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and site procedures.


• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
