Bedford / South East
£40,000-£45,000
I'm recruiting a Health & Safety Advisor for a growing construction business covering projects from the Bedford area down towards the South Coast.
This is a particularly good opportunity for somebody in the early stages of their Health & Safety career who wants considerably more exposure, responsibility and development.
You do not need to come from a specific sector.
Construction, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, facilities or another practical environment could all be considered.
What matters more is that you already have some practical H&S experience, hold a Level 3 Health & Safety qualification and are genuinely driven to develop.
The business delivers a broad range of construction projects, including ground-up builds, M&E, fit-out and associated works.
You'll spend much of your time visiting projects and working directly with operational teams, gaining exposure to different stages and types of construction.
This will remain flexible depending on projects, so you need to be comfortable travelling and adapting your week when required.
Ideally, you will be based around Bedford, allowing sensible coverage from just north of Bedford through to projects towards Portsmouth, Dover and the wider South East.
Development is a major part of this position.
The Health & Safety lead is specifically looking for somebody they can develop over several years rather than somebody who already knows everything.
There is a significant training budget available, alongside structured development, mentoring and the opportunity to shadow both the H&S lead and the existing Health & Safety Advisor.
You'll be given increasing responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.
Some understanding or exposure to construction would be useful, although a construction background is not essential.
This is not aimed at experienced Senior Advisors or H&S Managers. The business specifically wants somebody who still has significant scope to develop and who will benefit from the investment, mentoring and project exposure available.
