Gynaecology Outpatients Manager - Leatherhead

We are seeking a proactive, dynamic, and experienced nurse manager to lead our friendly Gynaecology Outpatient Services. The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across a range of outpatient services and clinics. You will be responsible for operational management, clinical leadership, service development, and staff support.

Main duties of the job

Provide clinical expertise and specialist advice to women accessing gynaecological outpatient services. Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, holistic nursing care that is current, effective, and aligned with Trust policies. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients undergoing assessments, investigations, and procedures. Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professional attitudes and behaviours.

Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the gynaecology outpatient department. Provide strong, clear, and consistent leadership to both qualified and unqualified staff. Promote effective communication within the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives. Motivate the team to foster a positive learning environment, ensuring staff are supported and developed within the outpatient competency framework.

Support and participate in all aspects of clinical governance, including audits and quality assurance. Identify and implement initiatives to improve patient care and service delivery. Ensure compliance with current standards and legislation relevant to gynaecology services. Manage staffing, resources, and scheduling to ensure smooth service delivery. Contribute to strategic planning and development of outpatient services. Liaise with other departments and external partners to ensure integrated care pathways.

Education / Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Teaching or mentorship qualification (e.g., Practice Assessor).
  • Leadership or management qualification (or working towards).
Experience
  • Proven experience in Gynaecology or women's health services
  • Proven experience in managing Gynaecology outpatient services or clinical teams.
  • Previous experience in a Band 6 role and managing
  • Experience of delivering change
