Job summary

JD Gyms York is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, lead the team and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for members. You will work with the management team to drive memberships and revenue, perform safety checks, and maintain branding standards while delivering outstanding member service.

Flexibility is required with early mornings, evenings and weekends; leadership experience in leisure or hospitality is preferred.

Qualifications

• Leads or supports colleagues in a leisure, fitness or customer-focused setting.
• Delivers excellent member service and coaches staff as needed.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor as a minimum requirement.
• Contributes to membership growth, revenue and local marketing.
• Supports operational delivery and team leadership in a leisure environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day club operations including opening/closing where required.
• Support and develop colleagues while maintaining JD Gyms brand standards.

You will help maintain high operational standards, support colleagues and ensure members receive a safe, welcoming and positive experience during every visit. Responsibilities:• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties where required.• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
