DUTY MANAGER - GYM / HEALTH CLUB - (Battersea Power Station)
PT Level 3 qualified
Current shifts = 32 hours pw OR 24 hours pw
As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the highest levels of customer service to residents, guests, and external contractors. You will be the primary point of contact for all queries within the Club, overseeing the operation of the entire facility and reporting to the Club & Spa Manager. Service delivery must be at the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Maintain a high standard of appearance and personal hygiene according to Educated Body Grooming protocol.
- Show a professional attitude at all times, especially regarding punctuality and manners.
- Act as the main contact for resident and guest queries.
- Perform duties with a friendly, professional attitude, following all responsibilities assigned by the Club & Spa Manager.
Operations:
- Maintain inventory for club supplies.
- Manage bookings for treatments, personal training, inductions, fitness activities, and external practitioners.
- Handle administrative procedures to ensure professional club operation.
- Keep the reception area tidy, clean, and stocked.
- Execute opening and closing procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the entire club through regular walk-throughs and follow-up.
- Follow all Educated Body standards and procedures.
- Manage incoming and outgoing packages and emails.
- Report requests and complaints to the Club & Spa Manager, ensuring prompt resolution and follow-up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Customer Service:
- Facilitate smooth resident experiences throughout their visit.
- Maintain high guest service levels at all times.
- Handle all enquiries, service requests, and bookings efficiently.
- Provide a warm welcome to residents, including tours and re-orientations for new and returning residents.
- Anticipate resident needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all residents courteously.
- Answer Club-related questions, including health & fitness advice, courteously.
- Maintain good telephone etiquette.
- Conduct resident inductions, offer complimentary 30-minute PT sessions, and create personalized programs.
- Record and store lost property properly.
Facility Management and Maintenance:
- Identify and report hazards, defects, and safety issues.
- Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on gym and plant room equipment.
Training:
- Attend necessary training courses.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene legislation.
Health and Safety:
- Conduct safety and cleanliness checks during opening and closing.
- Regularly check all areas for safety and cleanliness, including pools and spa facilities.
- Test water quality every 2 hours for spa and every 4 hours for pools.
- Follow operating procedures and attend emergency responder training.
- Act as a professional rescuer in emergencies.
- Report and log equipment issues.
Any other reasonable tasks as assigned by your line manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Level 3 PT qualification or about to complete it is essential.
- Strong written and verbal English skills and industry knowledge.
- Significant experience in a similar role.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.
- Well-organized with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask efficiently without loss of composure.
- Friendly, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience in health and safety practices.
