A leading organization in Merthyr seeks an early language development practitioner on a fixed-term basis until March 2025. This role focuses on enhancing children’s speech, language, and communication through direct engagement with families and the implementation of targeted interventions. Ideal candidates will have experience working with young children and families, delivering effective speech development strategies.
Fixed Term until 31st March 2025

29 hours per week, term time only + 2 weeks
This post aims to improve family engagement in their children’s speech, language, and communication development by engaging with families within Merthyr Tydfil. The post holders will be responsible for delivering early language development interventions to children aged birth to five, with a focus on children under 2 years and their families, both in group settings and on a one-to-one basis within the home. Additionally, the post holder will utilize a speech and language toolkit to measure children’s early language progress.
The role involves working in consultation with a range of early years professionals and families to deliver intervention strategies that enhance children's speech, language, and communication needs. The approach will use the early language graduated response to jointly devise interventions that bring about positive change.
This position is instrumental in supporting the Early Language Development Graduated Response and the Early Language Pathway.
