Job description

GVAT Client Process Excellence and Transformation Manager

We are seeking an experienced GVAT Client Process Excellence and Transformation Manager to join our team.

Make an Impact at RSM UK

Are you ready to drive excellence in global VAT compliance? Join RSM UK as the GVAT Client Process Excellence and Transformation Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping our VAT compliance services across the UK, EU, and beyond. You'll be at the heart of a dynamic team, ensuring quality and efficiency in tax reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients.

As the GVAT Client Process Excellence and Transformation Manager, your responsibilities will include managing client relationships during the end-to-end onboarding process for new clients, covering indirect tax compliance and digital requirements such as e-invoicing and real-time reporting. You will identify and implement process improvements, drive operational efficiencies, and leverage AI technologies to enhance service delivery.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills. You will act as a central connector—"the spider in the web"—linking internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless process execution.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring compliance with global VAT, e-invoicing, and digital reporting standards.
  • Managing client relationships as a trusted advisor to foster growth in our professional and financial engagements.
  • Serving as a strategic liaison between clients and internal teams, translating complex needs into streamlined, scalable processes.
  • Using AI and emerging technologies to improve onboarding, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Collaborating across tax, technology, operations, and client service teams to deliver integrated solutions.

What we are looking for:

If you thrive on variety, enjoy learning, and connecting with people, this role is ideal. We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in the Indirect Tax transformation space.
  • Knowledge of data transformation tools such as Alteryx, SQL, and Python (preferred).
  • Understanding of VAT and indirect taxes in a cross-border context.

Key skills and competencies include:

  • Teamwork and collaboration across departments and cultures.
  • Client-centric approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills across tax, finance, ERP, and tech/data teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfort with digital tools, automation, and AI technologies.
  • Adaptability and a proactive change management mindset.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on data-driven improvements.
  • Resilience under pressure and flexibility to change.

What we can offer you:

We recognize our people are our greatest asset. Our benefits package includes:

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • 27 days holiday, with options to purchase additional days.
  • Wellbeing benefits including financial tools, electric car schemes, and virtual GP access.
  • Individual healthcare coverage.
  • Access to over 300 on-demand training courses developed by our Talent Development team.
