About the company

I am recruiting on behalf of a leading supplier of automotive wiring harness and components, based in Milton Keynes, seeking a Guest Engineering Manager.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage guest engineering activities throughout vehicle development and mass production phases across locations where the Business Unit has a presence.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing skilled personnel to manage vehicle design change and information release, both onsite and within the Client.
  • Provide a main point of contact for guest engineering for management and customer teams.
  • Ensure efficient operation of guest engineering functions and adherence to vehicle development schedules.
  • Manage vehicle development design release timing to support manufacturing and delivery with high-quality information.
  • Maintain effective communication with relevant Client departments about program timing and activities.
  • Review and develop guest engineering systems and procedures for greater efficiency.
  • Periodically review guest engineering support with the customer, focusing on timescale adherence and data quality.
  • Manage Monozukuri activities via guest engineering and ADO functions to support cost reduction proposals.
  • Support the Business Manager in identifying guest engineering and customer requirements, including budget planning.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Line Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • HND / degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering with knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and circuits.
  • Effective communication skills, especially in customer contact and liaison.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Experience required

  • Minimum 5 years in harness design environment and vehicle EDS.
  • Knowledge of wire harness build and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Client-specific engineering systems and understanding of their business.
  • Management experience, capable of managing remote and local teams.
