Weekend Complex Care Support Worker, Surrey, GU3. A fantastic new role available (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for an engaging, proactive and dedicated professional to join a care team providing 2:1 support to a charming young chap with complex care and medical needs in Wanborough, Guildford area. Offering GBP550.00 Gross per Weekend

Nearest Tube/Station: Wanborough train station
Wage/Salary: GBP17.00 Weekdays GBP19.00 Weekends GBP550.00 per weekend (based on working Friday, Saturday and Sunday) All figures quoted in gross.
Driver Essential? Yes, WAV for use whilst on duty, with your own car required to travel to the family home
Essential: Experience supporting a young person with complex care and medical needs (PEG, medication management), confident with all aspects of manual handling, excellent communication and writing skills
Desirable: Suctioning,Chest physio, VNS and epilepsy management, NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Shifts available: Friday: 10.00am 8.00pm, Saturday: 8.00am 8.00pm, Sunday 8.00am 4.00pm. This position can be for every weekend, or alternate weekends as a job share.

About this client/child: Harry is an almost 8-year-old boy; he is a happy, engaging, and cheeky chap. He loves listening to music, painting, sensory activities and playing games with his two younger brothers. Harry also enjoys spending time outdoors where he can listen to the birds and all the sounds of nature. Harry has significant complex care and medical needs; he is totally reliant on others to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated care team providing 2:1 24/7 care. Harry has cerebral palsy, dysphagia, epilepsy (VNS in situ, however, Harry will experience regular seizures), a PEG for all nutrition, fluids, and medication, and requires suctioning. He has a visual impairment, using Eye Gaze Technology to support his communication, and is a wheelchair user. He is susceptible to chest infections, and chest physio is implemented daily, and cough assist. He is at the heart of a loving and supportive family, his parents recognise that his team of support workers are instrumental in his overall development, and they ensure their home is a pleasant and professional working environment.

Overview of role: As Harry s Support Worker you will assist with all aspects of his health, care and medical needs. Supporting him in his home, school and out in the community. Harry has a busy schedule with therapy, appointments, and activities; your role will be to assist and facilitate him to participate in all aspects of his daily routine and family life. Training is provided, however due to his level of needs, you must come to this role with complex care and medical experience; a large part of this role involves clinical care. Additional hours available if desired. Team members will be asked to travel to support Harry on holidays in the UK and abroad. This position can be for every weekend, or alternate weekends as a job share.

Who this job would suit: A positive, resilient, confident and empathetic professional, with previous experience supporting a young person with a high level of complex care needs. This role would also suit someone who is seeking a part-time role, to complement their studies or another part-time position. You will be dedicated, committed and enjoy working as part of a team. For this role it is essential that you are a driver (with your own car to travel to the family home), a non-smoker /vaper and seeking a permanent position.
