Job Description

Location: Brett Martin Daylight Systems, Sanford Close, Aldermans Green Industrial Estate

To lead and manage a shift of up to 30 employees covering all site operational activities to achieve output targets within safety and quality standards, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full, within cost plans.

Responsibilities

1. Manage all production processes, including quality, EHS, and process improvements.
2. Deputise for the Production Manager/Business Manager.
3. Complete daily production schedules on the shop floor.
4. Control stock of all GRP raw materials and consumables, including monthly stock takes and updates to D365.
5. Supervise GRP resin deliveries, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
6. Place purchase orders for materials.
7. Ensure accurate end-of-month stock takes and proper documentation.
8. Provide holiday and absence cover for team members.
9. Produce GRP sheets to specifications with minimal waste.
10. Prevent substandard products from dispatch.
11. Supervise, train, and develop the GRP team.
12. Induct and train temporary operators.
13. Maintain PPE records for operators.
14. Process valley orders and monitor performance of valley sanding area using KPIs.
15. Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, ISO 9001, and quality systems.
16. Act as a role model, uphold policies, and manage disciplinary issues.
17. Conduct employee reviews and set SMART objectives.
18. Communicate performance metrics and gather feedback.
19. Reduce customer complaints through root cause analysis.
20. Report machine faults and coordinate with engineering for repairs.
21. Manage the 5S program and pursue cost savings through continuous improvement.
22. Contribute to new product development and process improvements.
23. Develop departmental operations plans aligned with company objectives.
24. Maintain and monitor operator skill verification and development.
