Job description

About us

We are a hyper-growth Tech startup on a mission to revolutionise student rental. We were formed after our co-founders - Harry and Ben - experienced the pain-points of renting a house while at university, and knew that there had to be a better way.
We’re looking for a resourceful, data-obsessed Growth Marketing Manager to help scale Housr’s marketing engine across paid and owned channels as we enter an exciting new phase of growth. You’ll focus on driving user acquisition volume and improving the conversion rate of traffic to customers, working across the funnel and collaborating closely with other functions: marketing, sales, partnerships, operations and engineering.

We're now up and running in four UK cities (growing to 8 in Q3) and have launched in the US. In 2023 we were recognised by Tech Climbers as a rapidly scaling tech company, and we're currently fundraising to fuel our growth even further.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, launch, manage and optimise paid digital campaigns with guidance from the Global Head of Marketing
  • Improve landing page conversion rates through A/B testing and CRO best practices
  • Identify and execute website SEO improvements
  • Use data (GA4, Hubspot, Hotjar, etc.) to identify funnel drop-off points and growth opportunities
  • Partner with our Social & Content & CRM leads to increase campaign reach and user retention
  • Build test-and-learn frameworks for growth experiments and iterate based on results
  • Track and report on KPIs (CPA, CAC, CVR) and provide actionable insight

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong commercial experience 3–5 years of experience in growth, performance, or digital marketing roles (ideally 3-5yrs approx)
  • Solid understanding of paid media (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok are advantageous)
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization and UX experimentation
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and organic content workflows
  • Confidence using tools like GA4, Hubspot, Hotjar, Looker/Data Studio
  • Strong analytical mindset — comfortable working with data to make decisions
  • Customer-centric approach to decision making and ability to analyse the customer journey
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced environment
  • Bonus: exposure to early-stage startups, marketplaces, or student-focused products

Success in six months is…

  • Paid campaigns are running efficiently with improved CPL
  • Landing pages and flows show measurable conversion improvement
  • Key SEO opportunities identified and addressed (site health, on-page improvements)
  • Demonstrate a clear experimentation roadmap
  • Growth reporting is reliable and actionable

What we offer

  • Salary - Genuinely Market Competitive!! (We’re happy to disclose our benchmarked bandings during the interview process)
  • Holiday - 25 days off, plus bank holidays each year
  • Free Gym Membership - Keep fit, with free use of our on-site gym
  • Monthly Team Lunches - At the end of each month, we all grab lunch together as a team, and also have the afternoon off to focus on ourselves
  • Company socials - A chance to let our hair down as a team. Past socials have ranged from paintball to ping pong tournaments - we’re quite competitive!
  • Central Office Space - Located in the heart of Manchester, and complete with on-site barista
  • Hybrid Work Policy - We’re big advocates of in-person collaboration. We’re in the office four days a week, with Thursday as a team-wide work from home day.

Interview Process

  • First Stage - Exploratory screening call with our Talent Partner (30 mins)
  • Second Stage - Video call with our Global Head of Marketing (Katy) & a member of our marketing team (30 mins)
  • Third Stage - We’ll set you a take home task, requiring no more than 2hrs of your time. We’ll make it fun, we promise. We’d then like you to present your task to us F2F:
    • Part 1 - A chance for you to walk through your take-home task and for us to ask questions (30 mins)
    • Part 2 - Wider ranging questions about your experiences and motivations for working at Housr, approaches to certain scenarios, working style and what you’ll bring to this role (30 mins)
  • Offer - If we think it’s a good fit, we’ll make you an offer!
