Group Transport Manager | Food | West Midlands | c.£60k + benefits

📍 Location: West Midlands

I'm looking for a dynamic Group Transport Manager to lead transport operations across multiple sites, drive high performance, and keep the network safe, compliant and efficient for a fantastic food business. You will take ownership of a growing transport function, leading initiatives, driving improvements and ensuring transport compliance.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing a refrigerated transport function and must hold a Transport Management CPC.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and develop transport teams across the group, creating a high-performance, safety-first culture.
  • Own transport compliance across all sites: O‑Licence, DVSA, WTD, audits, driver standards.
  • Optimise fleet performance – utilisation, routing, fuel, maintenance and cost control.
  • Manage relationships with regulators and key internal stakeholders.
  • Improve delivery performance across all sites, putting the customer first on all occasions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning, fleet strategy and systems.
  • Lead or support key projects (system upgrades, depot improvements, new vehicles).
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong experience running transport operations (ideally multi‑site, multidrop, refrigerated vehicles.
  • Deep knowledge of UK transport legislation + O‑Licence requirements.
  • Experienced leading drivers, planners and transport managers.
  • Clear communicator who can influence across operations and leadership teams.
  • Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions‑focused.
  • Essential: CPC (National/International), background in food and FMCG.
