THE GIG

The Group Technical Reporting Accountant will work within the Group Financial Control team reporting to the Group Technical Reporting Manager.

The key focuses will be supporting on all technical accounting matters and ensuring that financial reporting is of a high standard produced to specified deadlines for external reporting.

As our Group Technical Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for financial reporting and technical accounting, advising on complex transactions, proposed activities, and IFRS compliance across the Group.
  • Preparing technical accounting papers, using analytical and problem solving skills to reach justified conclusions and next steps
  • Owning and maintaining the Group Accounting Manual, Policies and Procedures, monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring consistent application across regional and Group teams.
  • Working collaboratively with commercial finance, tax, treasury, legal, and other departments to assess accounting implications of new or complex transactions and support financial decision-making.
  • Supporting on month-end, compliance reporting, financial statement preparation and reviews, auditor liaison, and finance training initiatives to enhance reporting quality and technical capability globally.

  • ACA qualified with experience in large organisations, ideally within a listed group reporting function or Big 4 audit environment.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, relevant Companies Act requirements, and financial controls, with hands-on experience preparing or auditing complex group and subsidiary financial statements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills, with the ability to assess technical issues and their wider financial reporting impacts.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality work under pressure.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organisational skills, with a proactive, results-driven mindset and confidence working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
