Job summary

Vertage is seeking a Group Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to own statutory reporting and technical accounting across the Group. The role sits in the Group Finance team with hybrid work, primarily in London with occasional in-person work in Luton.

You will lead preparation of statutory financial statements, coordinate disclosures, and work with regional teams and external auditors to ensure compliance and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience preparing IFRS statutory financial statements.
• Technical accounting expertise in a multinational environment.
• Experience drafting annual report disclosures.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with acquisitions and financing transactions.
• Exposure to group reporting environments.
• Experience with reporting and consolidation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements for Group entities and coordinate year-end reporting across regional finance teams.
• Ensure local filing and reporting requirements are met and maintain the statutory calendar.
• Coordinate annual report financial disclosures, including questionnaires and supporting schedules.
• Write technical accounting assessments and position papers on acquisitions, restructurings and complex transactions.
• Lead impairment reviews and manage IFRS 16 accounting and disclosures.
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess impact for the business.
• Support the Group Financial Controller through audits and address technical auditor queries.
• Improve reporting processes, disclosures and governance with standardized templates.
• Hybrid into our London office and Luton as required for meetings.

Group Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager

Are you a technical accountant who enjoys getting the detail right, and seeing how it shapes the bigger picture? We’re looking for a Group Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager to join our Group Finance team and take ownership of our statutory reporting and technical accounting across the Group.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Reporting & Consolidation, you’ll be our go‑to expert on IFRS and statutory compliance. You’ll lead the preparation of annual statutory financial statements, coordinate disclosures, and work closely with regional finance teams, the Group Financial Controller and our external auditors.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading the preparation and review of statutory financial statements for Group entities, and coordinating year-end reporting across our regional finance teams

• Making sure we meet local filing and reporting requirements, and keeping our statutory calendar on track

• Coordinating annual report financial disclosures, including questionnaires, supporting schedules and reconciliations

• Writing technical accounting assessments and position papers, including on acquisitions, restructurings and other complex transactions

• Leading impairment reviews and managing IFRS 16 accounting and disclosures

• Keeping an eye on emerging accounting standards and assessing what they mean for the business

• Supporting the Group Financial Controller through interim and year-end audits, and helping resolve technical matters raised by our auditors

• Improving our reporting, disclosure and documentation processes, including developing standardised templates and strengthening governance

• Hybrid into our London office and Luton as required for meetings

What we’re looking for

• ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification

• Strong experience preparing IFRS statutory financial statements

• Technical accounting expertise gained in a multinational environment

• Experience drafting annual report disclosures

• Excellent written communication and documentation skills

• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills

• Experience in a listed or private-equity-backed group desirable

• Experience with reporting and consolidation systems of benefit

• Exposure to acquisitions, financing transactions and group reporting environments
