Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support M&A initiatives and provide technical accounting solutions.
  • Prepare valuations for intangible assets as per IAS 38.

Skills

The Role

As a Group Technical Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Group Reporting & Accounting team during a pivotal phase of business growth. This is a high-impact position with exposure to technical accounting, M&A, and strategic finance initiatives across the group.

Opportunities
  • You will be supporting with M&A initiatives, as they arise by providing technical accounting solutions and working with the wider finance team.
  • Provide technical accounting support during group and statutory close processes.
  • Prepare valuations and technical memos for intangible assets (IAS 38) / Impairment of assets (IAS 36).
  • Collaborate with legal, treasury, and tax teams on group reorganisations and consolidations.
  • Lead the implementation of new accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 18) across finance.
  • Application of IFRS 2 (Share-Based Payments).
  • Support M&A activity with technical accounting insights and coordination.
  • Improve intercompany accounting processes and mitigate FX exposures.
  • Partner with tax on accounting matters related to reporting and planning.
  • Leverage shared service centre capabilities to support corporate initiatives.
  • Deliver technical accounting training across the finance function.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within the wider finance team.
  • Support internal reporting changes and other finance-led initiatives.
Skills
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (Top 6 audit firm preferred).
  • 2–3 years post-qualification experience in a financial reporting role (ideally in a large listed company).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, including consolidation, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and responsive under tight deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is a plus.
