THE ROLE

You will be managing the Group’s tax reporting requirements as well as UK & Ireland tax matters, while assisting with other ad hoc projects.

OPPORTUNITIES
  1. Manage the production of the year-end and interim group consolidated tax charge and tax disclosure notes under IFRS.
  2. Complete a tax forecast to ensure that the group’s Effective Tax Rate (ETR) is managed and understood.
  3. Prepare deferred tax assets/liabilities schedules, analyzing temporary differences, net operating loss carry forward, and business combinations.
  4. Liaise with external auditors to obtain final audit clearance of tax provisions, reconciliations, and disclosure notes.
  5. Provide tax advice and recommendations regarding share-based payments, including tax treatment and accounting methodology.
  6. Prepare data for CBCR filing.
  7. Work with Transfer Pricing Manager and wider tax team to prepare for BEPS pillar 2 and assess impacts on ETR forecasts.
  8. Support the Global Head of Tax and collaborate with the tax team and external advisors on tax planning and strategy.
  9. Assist with the tax risk register, develop a methodology for Uncertain Tax Positions (UTPs), and update management on risks and opportunities.
  10. Ensure accurate recording of intercompany transactions in line with Temenos' business model.
  11. Review quarterly Profit before Tax (PBT) to ensure alignment with expectations.
  12. Review UK & Ireland corporation tax returns and tax disclosures in financial statements.
  13. Update internal controls related to tax reporting, coordinating with Internal Audit.
  14. Assist with M&A activities, providing tax accounting steps and maximizing tax benefits.
  15. Provide withholding tax advice, documentation, and tax accounting methodology to business units.
  16. Manage tax projects, including outsourcing Global Tax Compliance.
  17. Train other tax managers and financial controllers as needed.
  18. Conduct technical research on legislative changes.
  19. Support HR with UK employment-related tax issues.

SKILLS

  • Qualified accountant with a UK corporate tax background, including tax accounting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle TRCS or similar tax provision software is highly desirable.
  • Experience producing tax disclosures for group financial statements accurately and timely.
  • Experience calculating quarterly tax charges and working with external auditors.
  • Maintain and develop internal controls framework.
  • Industry experience (not necessarily Fintech).
  • Good knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS.
  • Good knowledge of UK tax.
  • Awareness of transfer pricing.
