Job Introduction:

Listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, MJ Gleeson plc is one of the fastest growing housebuilders in the UK. The Group has a strong financial position and a unique business model with continued opportunities for sustainable growth.

MJ Gleeson plc operates across 2 main divisions: Gleeson Homes, which builds high-quality, affordable homes across the North of England and the Midlands, and Gleeson Land, which specializes in land promotion and securing residential planning consents mainly in the South of England. Due to continued rapid growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Group Tax Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain tax accounting procedures and controls for the Group.
2. Work with external tax advisers to ensure tax compliance in all areas.
3. Lead projects with external tax advisers on VAT, CIS, payroll taxes health checks, land remediation relief claims, and corporation tax for accounts and returns.
4. Review and submit CIS and VAT returns.
5. Maintain up-to-date SAO certification and tax strategy.
6. Ensure best practice in tax reporting and disclosures.
7. Serve as the main point of contact for tax queries across the Group.
8. Develop and deliver tax training to the business.
9. Handle ad hoc projects and analysis as required.
