Job description

Experienced Tax Assistant required for a large PE-backed distribution business based in Sheffield.

The Tax Assistant is responsible for delivering strategic projects and all aspects of UK & Irish tax compliance, reporting, risk, controls and tax policy:

  • Primary contact for tax matters across the group.
  • Anticipating and evaluating industry development and legislative changes.
  • Preparing and submitting UK & Irish Corporate Tax and VAT returns.
  • Identifying and assessing tax risks.
  • Reviewing internal procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.

The person:

  • The successful candidate will be degree educated and qualified/part-qualified Accountant/Tax professional (ACA, CTA or ATT).
  • Previous experience is essential.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, demonstrating honesty and integrity with a transparent and clear communication style.
  • Experience in project management is required, with the ability to prioritise workload.
