Purpose

The Lancashire Group is looking for a Group Reporting Manager who will report to and operate under the Head of Financial Reporting for the Group. The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate the Group financial consolidation process and prepare external financial reporting on an IFRS basis.

Description

Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quarterly LHL Group close timetables and year-end and half-year GAAP reporting timetables.
  • Manage inter-office reporting and consolidation processes across the Lancashire Group.
  • Perform data quality checks and reconciliations to underlying systems.
  • Contribute to external communications such as press releases, board & audit committee packs, CFO reporting, and management accounts.
  • Analyze actuals against prior year and forecasts.
  • Prepare the Group's annual report, financial statements, and disclosures.
  • Coordinate with service providers for iXBRL reporting.
  • Prepare BMA regulatory reports, including the FCR.
  • Develop expertise in WDESK reporting tool, becoming SME and administrator.
  • Ensure integrity of general ledger systems and related processes.
  • Support external audits, ensuring timely completion and addressing management letter points.
  • Conduct audit effectiveness reviews and prepare related documentation.
  • Work on process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance team.
  • Research IFRS standards and assist in technical accounting memos.
  • Develop and maintain policies, controls, and systems for reporting accuracy.
  • Manage ad hoc projects independently with accurate conclusions.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA).
  • Post-qualification experience, preferably in insurance/reinsurance.
  • Experience preparing IFRS financial statements for re/insurance entities.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains and WDesk beneficial.
  • Understanding of BMA regulatory reporting.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including extended hours if needed.
  • High attention to detail and time management skills.
