We are seeking an aspiring Financial Accountant/Analyst who will be responsible for providing accurate financial reporting for main and special purpose ledgers and supporting improvements in Group reporting for Revenue, Continuous Improvement, and Inventory.

What you’ll be responsible for:

Record-to-Report:

1. Maintain accurate and complete General and Special Purpose Ledger accounting and integrity of financial statements.
2. Prepare, review and co-ordinate as needed monthly closing cycle with business input, in line with the central timetable.
3. Prepare and review as needed the calculation, review and approval of journal postings, accruals and provisions, deferred elements etc. in line with Sony policy.
4. Co-ordinate responses to queries related to financial accounting and standard reporting.
5. Prepare and Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure all balances are reconciled and validated.
6. Ensure month end close processes are delivered to support financial reporting and facilitate clear variance reporting against forecast and budget, and prior periods.

Controllership

1. Review and approval of journal (accruals & provisions etc.) postings within own area of responsibility prepared by Off-shore and other parts of the Finance community.
2. Support and coordinate additional transition of activities to BPO and preparation of handover and related work instructions (DPMs).

Business Partnering

1. Partnering with the wider Sony business stakeholders. Building relationships, understanding their processes and priorities, and seeing the big picture of what is important and how Group Reporting can add value to our partners is critical to success within this role.

Continuous Improvement & Governance

1. Identify and support implementation process improvements and Automation (RPA) that maximise efficiency and improve service to the front-line business.
2. Support document retention in line with Sony policy and legal requirements.
3. Support reporting to Europe & Tokyo senior management is carried out in timely manner, addressing key areas such as commercial investment, bad debt etc. managing technical accounting compliance on operational basis within SEU.

You will bring:

1. Recent experience of working within a Financial Accounting/Analysis position.
2. Technical accounting & analysis knowledge.
3. Capability to build dashboards & work with large datasets.
4. Strong commercial/business partnering skills.
5. An ability to continually innovate & improve on existing processes.

Based at the Weybridge office, you will enjoy a vibrant and friendly working environment. We have an onsite canteen with a wide range of options available, and a barista style coffee shop. We currently require our Weybridge based employees to work on site a minimum 3-days per full working week.
