And it’s not just us saying it’s a great place to work.
We’ve been recognised as a Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2026 and 2025, with employee engagement scores6% higher than the industry average. That means our people feel heard, supported and set up to succeed — and we work hard to keep it that way.

The role

We’re looking for a Group Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team and take a leading role in how we manage financial reporting, accounting and tax compliance across the Group.

Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, you’ll be right at the heart of the numbers — from group and statutory reporting through to management accounts, financial controls, tax compliance and audit. You’ll also have the opportunity to work closely with teams across the business, including Marketing, and help shape the way we do things as we continue to grow.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply crunch numbers and tick boxes. We’re looking for someone who wants to understand the business, challenge the detail, solve problems and use their financial expertise to make a real difference.

If you like pace, complexity and having a seat at the table, you’ll feel right at home.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting across the Group, while helping us strengthen our processes, controls and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing timely and accurate Advertising Fund management reports, including variance analysis, month-end accruals and insightful commentary for senior management
  • Partnering with our Marketing team to prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts for the Advertising Fund
  • Preparing regular cashflow forecasts to support effective working capital management
  • Preparing statutory accounts for Group companies
  • Supporting the year-end audit process, providing information and responding to auditor queries
  • Acting as a technical accounting specialist across the Group, taking the lead on complex accounting and financial reporting matters
  • Providing particular expertise around IFRS 16, identifying the appropriate accounting treatment and working with stakeholders to implement it
  • Driving the continual development of our financial close and control environment
  • Ensuring financial controls and processes remain effective, with reconciliations maintained and opportunities for improvement identified
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting and finance standards, best practice and relevant government regulations
  • Preparing regulatory and tax filings, including quarterly VAT returns and Capital Allowances analysis.
  • Ensuring we remain compliant with tax payment and reporting requirements

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance, including Accounts Payable and restaurant-level Management Accounts, so being able to build strong relationships and communicate clearly will be just as important as getting the numbers right.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ICAS), ideally with experience gained in a Big 4 or other top-tier accounting firm environment.

You’ll also bring:

  • Statutory audit or statutory accounts preparation experience — this is essential
  • Experience working with complex accounting standards, particularly IFRS 16
  • Experience testing, performing or reviewing financial controls and processes
  • Strong analytical skills and a genuine curiosity to understand what the numbers are telling you
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and advanced formulas
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the confidence to dig deeper and challenge what you see
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and explain financial information to both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • A proactive, self-starting approach and the ability to manage your own workload across multiple priorities
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing and growing environment
  • A genuine desire to learn, understand the wider business and use financial analysis to help drive performance

Tax experience would be a real advantage, but it’s not essential.

Most importantly, you’ll bring energy, curiosity and ownership. You’ll want to understand how Burger King UK works, not just how the numbers add up — and you’ll be excited by the opportunity to make things better.

The setup

You’ll join a passionate and collaborative Finance team that’s helping Burger King UK scale for the future.

This is an opportunity to work across the Group, gain exposure to senior stakeholders and get involved in some of the more complex accounting, reporting and commercial challenges that come with a growing business.

And because we believe you should be able Have It Your Way, you’ll have the opportunity to make your mark, challenge the way we do things and build processes that work better for our business.
