Job summary

Axon Moore is partnering with a high growth, PE-backed business to appoint a Group Project Accountant. This role sits within a dynamic group environment, offering varied, project-led work beyond traditional month-end duties.

The successful candidate will act as a finance all-rounder, supporting across financial controls, acquisitions, integration and business transformation initiatives while partnering with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Broad experience in group accounting and month-end processes

Responsibilities

• Support month-end reporting for the Group and prepare information for Board meetings.
• Assist the Group Financial Controller with financial controls and governance across the Group.
• Standardise Group-wide processes and reporting, focusing on integration of acquired businesses.
• Support treasury activities including payments, card expenses and cashflow monitoring.
• Assist with tax compliance across VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, PSA and P11Ds.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and standards across divisions and projects.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes, controls and reporting across the Group.
• Contribute to acquisitions and integration projects as needed.

Having built an impressive track record through a combination of strategic acquisitions and sustained organic growth, the business is continuing to evolve and offers an exciting environment for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their experience and make a genuine impact.

This role would suit an ACA or ACCA qualified, technically minded accountant who is looking to move away from a traditional, routine month-end-focused position and into a more varied, project-led and value adding role.

The successful candidate will act as a finance "all-rounder" across the Group, providing support on a wide range of initiatives and helping to drive continuous improvement across finance. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys getting involved, solving problems and working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver practical improvements.

The role will allow you to utilise your strong technical accounting knowledge within a growing Group environment, whilst gaining valuable exposure to acquisitions, integration, financial controls and wider business transformation projects.

You will be a confident communicator and credible business partner, comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels across Finance, Operations, IT, HR and the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end reporting process and preparation of financial information for Board meetings.
• Support the Group Financial Controller with the maintenance and enhancement of financial controls across the Group.
• Standardise and develop Group wide processes, reporting and best practice, with a particular focus on the integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Provide support across Group treasury activities, including payment approvals, corporate credit cards and expenses.
• Support the Group Finance Manager with tax compliance and submissions, including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, PSA and P11Ds.
• Monitor divisional compliance with accounting standards and Group accounting policies, ensuring consistent standards and best practice are maintained across the business.
• Support the implementation of new and updated accounting standards across the Group, working closely with stakeholders to ensure appropriate application and compliance.
• Assist with a range of ad hoc finance and business improvement projects, including supporting potential acquisitions and integration activity.
• Take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting and ways of working across the Group.
