Job summary

Silver Stone Search & Selection is partnering with a leading UK manufacturing group to recruit a procurement professional. You will report to the Head of Procurement and be responsible for developing and delivering procurement strategies across key direct spend categories, leading supplier negotiations, tenders and contract management.

The role requires building strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across multiple sites to drive cost savings and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a procurement/buying role (FMCG preferred)
• Direct categories management essential; packaging knowledge advantageous
• Committed to continuous improvement and adapting to change
• Knowledge of contract negotiations, supplier benchmarking and tender processes
• Multi-site or global procurement experience essential

Job description

Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will be responsible for;

• Developing and delivering procurement strategies across key direct spend categories.
• Lead supplier negotiations, tenders and contract management to deliver value and manage risk.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across multiple sites.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, supply continuity and ongoing supplier performance improvement.

Your Experience;

• You will have gained experienced within a procurement/buying role ideally within the FMCG industry (however other sectors will be considered)
• Previous management of direct categories is essential, packaging would be advantageous
• You will be committed to continuous improvement, and who thrives on change.
• Knowledge of contract negotiations, supplier benchmarking and tender processes
• Multi-site or global procurement experience is essential
