Job summary

New England Seafood International (NESI) is seeking a Group Packaging Technologist to lead packaging concepts, materials, and supplier compliance. You will work across Engineering, Technical, NPD and Operations to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and safety in packaging for NESI’s fresh and frozen products.

Based at Chessington or Grimsby, the role requires travel between sites and suppliers in the UK. 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with salary DOE.

Qualifications

• A track record of working in a similar and fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
• Experience running factory trials and assessing results.
• Knowledge of packaging formats and sustainability trends.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise on packaging concepts, machines, and materials to protect products.
• Lead new product development and innovative packaging formats for value, safety, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
• Own management of all packaging specifications and supplier/product compliance on the Supplier Compliance Portal.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver continuous improvements in operations.
• Support procurement in supplier selection, trials, and approvals for materials.
