Group Operations Director East Midlands
Salary: Competitive
Location: East Midlands Derbyshire DE4 3AG Hybrid

We are seeking a Group Operations Director to join our award-winning multi-disciplinary design and property consultancy. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving business performance and unlocking new opportunities while promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.

As the Group Operations Director, you will oversee all operational communications between Concertus and its stakeholders, building and developing culturally aligned teams focused on continuous improvement. Your leadership will be vital in guiding senior managers across our teams in Suffolk and the East Midlands, ensuring we promote an engaged and productive workforce prepared for future growth.

We are seeking a dynamic team player with strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills, capable of championing our People Strategy as well as our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing initiatives. Through your role, you will not only impact those we work with directly but will also enhance the lives of everyone who benefits from our projects.
As Group Operations Director you will:

  • Promote cultural alignment across the Group and drive integration of Matlock and Ipswich offices.
  • Ensure Senior Managers and the workforce adhere to company policies and processes.
  • Take responsibility for business development activities and actively engage with new clients.
  • Lead on, and encourage others to identify, continuous improvement opportunities ensuring that the company's working practices remain agile, competitive, and innovative.
  • Support the Associate Directors and Associates, linking effectively and proactively with other teams and professional areas within the Concertus Group.
  • Manage the day-to-day communication and reporting to Derbyshire County Council.
  • Act as the liaison between Concertus and Derbyshire County Council and Suffolk Country Council on an operational level.
  • Be accountable for Profit & Loss and debt control.

Qualifications and experience:
We are seeking an individual with extensive experience within the construction/consultancy sector including experience of leading a team at senior level.
You will have an understanding of People Management issues and necessary escalation routes as well as proven ability to manage client relationships, interpret P&L, and experience in reporting to the board both internally and externally.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Management qualification
  • Qualification in Health and Safety
  • Qualification in a construction or engineering field
