Overview

An Exciting Opportunity with Glasgow City Council – Group Manager (Strategic Transport Project Development)

Glasgow City Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead the development and delivery of strategic transport projects, helping to shape the future of mobility in our city.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and delivery of complex transport projects in a dynamic urban environment.
  • Ensure alignment with Glasgow’s transport strategies and broader policy objectives.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary project teams and consultants.
  • Manage budgets, project programmes, risks, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice, including NEC contracts and CDM regulations.
About You
  • A degree-level qualification in transport planning, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of transport policy, design standards, and delivery processes.
  • Experience of NEC contract management and CDM regulations.
  • Strong project and budget management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering strategic transport projects in a complex urban setting is desirable.
