Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will be responsible for leading and delivering the Business Operations & Waste Disposal service across the city.

You will demonstrate your ability to plan, allocate, and organize work to provide agreed service standards and to manage a range of competing service and operational priorities. You must be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a wider team, with experience in managing staff and work allocation.

You should have substantial experience at senior management level gained in Recycling and Waste Management, ideally within a local authority or public sector setting. Excellent communication, influencing, and IT skills are essential, along with good negotiating, analytical, and numeracy skills on complex issues. Knowledge of budgetary control and applying KPIs is also required.

A current Driving Licence and Health & Safety training are essential. A Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Science, or Engineering is desirable.
