Job summary

Buttress in Brackley is seeking a Group Management Accountant to join the Group Finance team. You will take ownership of monthly management accounts across allocated Group entities, support consolidation and intercompany reporting, and provide analysis to improve financial performance.

The role is suited to a part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant looking to broaden Group Finance experience within a growing, acquisitive business.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in management accounts and month-end reporting.
• Strong balance-sheet reconciliation experience.
• Good understanding of journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information.
• Experience producing clear and meaningful variance commentary.
• Good Excel, systems and data-handling skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confidence communicating financial information to stakeholders.
• Ability to work to month-end and reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for allocated Group entities.
• Post and review journals, accruals, prepayments and provisions.
• Own balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Support Group consolidation and intercompany reconciliation.
• Produce meaningful variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Provide clear commentary on the key drivers of financial performance.
• Support stock, landed-cost and margin accounting and investigate variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and external audit requirements.
• Maintain audit-ready working papers and improve Group Finance processes.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or finalist CIMA / ACCA; or
• Newly qualified CIMA / ACCA or equivalent.

Desirable

• Multi-entity or Group Finance experience.
• Exposure to consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Experience within a distribution, service or stock-based environment.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and external audit.
• Experience within a growing, acquisitive or private equity-backed business.
