Buttress seeks a Group Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance team. You will support month-end reporting, reconciliations, cashbook activity, intercompany accounting and audit preparation across our multi-entity group.

AAT-qualified professionals with attention to detail will thrive here, with exposure to NetSuite and a chance to contribute to process improvements as we grow.

Qualifications

• AAT-qualified essential.
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Exposure to intercompany accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end close and management-account schedules.
• Complete balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Maintain accurate cashbook and bank records.
• Support daily cash reporting and the Group cash-flow model.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations across Group entities.
• Prepare supporting schedules for external audit.
• Maintain clear financial records and audit trails.
• Support improvements and standardisation across Group Finance processes.
• Work flexibly across Group entities and ledgers as priorities evolve.

We are now seeking a Group Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance team. Working within our shared-service function, you will support month-end reporting, reconciliations, cashbook activity, intercompany accounting and audit preparation across our Group entities. This is a great opportunity for an AAT-qualified accountant looking to broaden their experience within a growing, multi-entity business and continue developing your finance career.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Support month-end close and management-account schedules.
• Complete balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
• Maintain accurate cashbook and bank records.
• Support daily cash reporting and the Group cash-flow model.
• Assist with intercompany reconciliations across Group entities.
• Prepare supporting schedules and information for external audit.
• Maintain clear and accurate financial records and audit trails.
• Support improvements and standardisation across Group Finance processes.
• Work flexibly across Group entities, systems and ledgers as priorities evolve.

Key Skills and Experience

• A sound understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Strong balance-sheet reconciliation experience.
• Experience preparing journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Good Excel and finance-system skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisation and the ability to work to deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn and develop.

Qualifications

• AAT-qualified essential.
• Studying towards CIMA or ACCA desirable.

Desirable

• Experience within a multi-entity or Group Finance environment.
• Exposure to management accounts, intercompany accounting or cash reporting.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite.
• Experience within a growing, acquisitive or shared-service environment.
