Job description

Job Title: Group ICP Technical Chemist

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Group ICP Technical Chemist to join our Laboratory in Liverpool, UK.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support in method development for new commodities.
  2. Actively seek improvements to existing methods.
  3. Support daily operational needs of the Group ICP laboratories.
  4. Offer technical advice and troubleshooting support to laboratory staff.
  5. Travel periodically overseas for site support, audits, and training; trips typically last 1-4 weeks, with potential for longer secondments.
  6. Utilize ICP techniques such as ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and AAS, applying practical knowledge to ensure accurate analysis.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Substantial laboratory experience.
  2. Experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, AAS, or similar spectroscopic techniques is advantageous.
  3. Degree or equivalent education is beneficial.
  4. Strong team player with a collaborative and diplomatic approach.
  5. Ability to critically analyze technical data, identify root causes, and suggest solutions.
  6. Motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  7. Excellent time management and communication skills.
