Working style: Hybrid (50% home/office based)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety professional to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the strategic management of health and safety across Royal London, establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving the health and safety management system to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and ISO45001 standards.

We value candidates who can lead projects requiring collaboration and buy-in from colleagues or external providers, and who can effectively engage leadership teams and partners. Experience in promoting workplace wellbeing initiatives and a passion for diversity and inclusion are highly desirable.

About the role

As the subject matter expert in all areas of H&S, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, landlords, managing agents, and enforcement authorities, to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assurance that H&S risks are effectively managed and statutory requirements are met.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of three Health and Safety Advisers to ensure comprehensive H&S coverage across the Group.
  • Supporting construction projects (CDM) and other small works.
  • Developing and delivering a comprehensive DSE assessment approach, supporting complex cases, neurodiversity, disabilities, and long-term health conditions.
  • Advising and supporting senior leadership on H&S matters to ensure legal compliance.
  • Managing and reporting on health and safety performance.
About you
  • Experience in strategic health and safety management within a multi-site office environment.
  • Leadership experience in H&S, including line management responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to design and foster a positive health and safety culture to reduce workplace risks.
  • Experience managing contracts related to health and safety services and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels within the organization.
  • Educated to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards chartership.
