Job description

Reporting to the Group Sales Director, the Group Head of Used Car Sales will be responsible for implementing the Used Car Sales Strategy for the Group across our 6 locations. This role will support the Group Sales Director in contributing to high-level decision making and long-term planning to ensure the Used Sales Function exceeds KPIs and delivers year on year growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading, developing and executing the Used Car Sales strategy to drive performance, growth and revenue.
  • Leading the Used Car Sales Departments to ensure the team exceed volume and profit KPIs including the sale of add‑on products including F&I.
  • Overseeing the Buying process and monitoring the purchases of the Group Buyers to ensure market trends are met and purchases deliver profitability for the Group.
  • Overseeing the stock management for the Group including monitoring and maintaining optimal stock levels in line with sales forecasts and market demand. Identifying initiatives to support and improve stock turn rates and providing regular updates on stock performance to the Group Sales Director.
  • Overseeing the pricing strategy and policies for the Group.
  • Driving the usage of EVA across the Group and where required, valuing incoming part exchanges.
  • Reviewing the re-con for the Group and ensuring the correct vehicles are being sent to auction.
  • Reviewing market and data trends to actively looking at opportunities to develop new market opportunities and areas in which performance can be improved/grown.
  • Challenge the Sales Team where required and react quickly to trends or areas of concerns with a solutions first approach.
  • Reviewing the Used Car sales performance and accounts to identify trends and areas of opportunity and working with GSMs to ensure these are delivered across the Sales Teams.
  • Coaching the Used Car Sales Teams on a regular basis to support continuous improvement and development. Monitoring performance and putting action plans in place where required to address areas of underperformance.
  • Driving the importance of customer experience with the Sales Team to ensure NPS on used is achieved as well as ensuring any elements of customer dissatisfaction are resolved.
  • Implementing robust sales processes to ensure a seamless customer experience whilst maximising sales revenue in the Used Departments.
  • Continuously review sales data and provide regular insights to the Group Sales Director as part of budget preparations and reforecasting requirements for the Used Department.
